Bird bird bird, bird is the word

Ohai!

I'm so happy!

My birthday is coming up and I'm making sure that I'm getting the most kickass presents ever :-D.
I'm spoiling myself a little, but I think I deserve it. Also, I bought myself a birthday present. A new lens. A Macro Lens. Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 L USM IS macro lens to be exact. I'm so fucking excited!! If you're interested, google the lens and search for pictures taken with that lens.
The portraits you can shoot are amazing and of course, the little details you can capture <3.
I can't wait! It's my dream come true! SO HAPPY! :-D
Chances are I'll already have my new lens tomorrow!

Here are some pictures I took last week! All birds!

Oh, and a goat and a donkey.

The corn (and a newly acquired autograph)

Here I am again!

It's been a while but I wanted to get an autograph to put on my photo's.
Copyrights 'n stuff, ya know.
I'm not thinking that everyone is out to steal my art but ah, it can't hurt right? Plus, it was a lot of fun, designing the autograph.
It wasn't much designing, I've written my initials/autograph like that since I was six. :-D
A friend better acquainted with photoshop altered it a little and this is what we ended up with.
Proud of it, actually! It looks artistic, compact and a little playful.

So, I've been thinking about my blog. I was thinking of making posts with themes.
You know, one day a message with photo's of animals, the other day a post with flowers... it's a little less random. I like the idea.
Now down to business! Here are my pictures:

You can guess today's theme :-P.

Hope you had a lovely day and see you later!

The Canon Girl

Some information and a prettier blog

Howdy!

I got a question from a reader (sounds fancy eh?) on what kind of equipment I use and I guess it's a good idea to just give a little bit of info about my camera.
The body is a Canon EOS 450, it's small but it fits in my hands perfectly, I love it and I dread the day I'll need a bigger one. And I have two lenses.
One kitlens I got with the body (18-55mm) and a zoomlens (70-200mm). Both with stabiliser and I have a tripod too.
That's all I've got so far, I'm hoping to save up enough money soon to buy a macrolens.
It's been a small dream of mine to get a macrolens ever since I started getting into photography.
After that I'd like a wide angle lens. Maybe some 'small' stuff like filters and an external flash, but I don't need that real bad.

I uploaded 18 pictures on flickr and my monthly capacity is full :-(. I'm gonna make another account on my boyfriends name so I can upload some more. I really don't want to resize my pictures, I'm already not that keen on JPEG quality.
I also just found out that a couple of pictures I already put on my blog were taken without stabiliser, I'm such a doofus :-D. It's probably a good idea that show which ones are taken without stabiliser.

Anyway, more pictures! (2nd and 4th without stabiliser)

Introduction

Hello!

First things first! I chose my nickname because I have a Canon camera and lenses, not because I'm an exotic circusact that shoots out of a canon. :-D

I'm the Canon Girl and I'm in love with photography.
I'm all about details.
A small flower, a crack in the wall, the rust on an iron gate. I want to show you that those small things make the world a beautiful place. That you don't have to fantasize about Moon Pandora to be on a fantastic spot.

I'm a country girl and I adore nature. The tall, steady trees. The soft, caressing grass. The delicate flowers. The colours of fall, the ice and snow of winter, the budding flowers and leaves in spring and of course the sunny summer shedding it's light on everything, making it all just a bit more beautiful. I try to take pictures as often as I can and I'll try to post them on this blog.

Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them.

Love,

The Canon Girl
