Naomi and the giant grasshopper
My mother was asked to housesit for someone with amazing garden so I obviously I had to snap some shots there! While crawling around (literally) with my macrolens ready I found some beautiful details to take pictures of. For one, this gorgeous big grasshopper! He was almost, if not just as big as my pinkie. He modelled very graciously for me. When I look at insects through my macrolens I always think of "James and the giant peach", one of my favorite movies as a kid. It's been at least six years since I've seen it but I still love all the characters. The smoky Miss Spider, Pop eye like Centipede, the posh Grasshopper who plays beautiful music on his violin etc... the songs in the movie are wonderful, as is the animation. Anyways, have fun looking at Mister Grasshopper in his natural habitat! And some other shots, of course. Hope you're having a wonderful summer!

I've been neglecting my photography because, well, life gets in the way sometimes. But I got some nice shots in the last couple of weeks I'd like to share with you!

Flowers of love
I got the most beautiful bouquet of flowers from my lovely boyfriend so of course I took a butt load of pictures of them, and more to come!
From all the presents I get every year I secretly look forward the most to the flowers. Of course to take some wonderful pictures of them but also because getting flowers from your loved one is such a beautiful gesture. Call me a dreamer but to me, flowers represent fantasy and imagination. They look like art. Nature will always be my favorite thing to photograph because it's the most natural thing you can call art. It inspires me, it captures me. Flowers are one of the most beautiful things in the world and even though you can just go to a flower shop and pay for them it's always really special for me to get flowers from my boyfriend. Not just a dozen of roses (I'm not really a rose person) but an actual bouquet, with different kinds of colors and plants together. While he looks at the prettiness of the whole, he also looks at what is the most interesting flower for me to take pictures of. I'm going to stop talking now and let the pictures do the talking! Hope you enjoy!
Granted, to show the beauty of nature you have to be a little smart. Good lighting, an interesting angle, a good camera, a dreamer behind the camera and a little lightroom aftermath can go a long way. ;-) More pictures of these beautiful flowers to still to come!
